Darwin Day is an international event organized since 2009 to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin, an English naturalist, and author of the theory of evolution. Darwin Day aims to commemorate his achievements and popularize science. This year, two lectures on the evolutionary history of mankind were presented. Professor Katarzyna Kaszycka, a paleoanthropologist from Adam Mickiewicz University showed contemporary achievements in tracking human evolution in fossil material. Professor Wiesław Babik from Jagiellonian University introduced us to the history of mankind recorded in genes.
